I just booked this place if anyone else is looking for hotel ideas in Camden... newmarkethouse.co.uk/It’s above a pub so won’t be for everyone but less than a mile away, maybe 15 minute walk to the tube/ venue, and I paid £57 per night for a single en-suite bedroom. The pub itself looks pretty decent too. Just sleep in the pub, then. You'll find me close to front row on Friday, and at my regular hangout on the balcony on Saturday. I'll try to keep my clothes on this time, bringing the mother of my kids and all. See you both there Muzzle!

They're in the no man's land between King's Cross and Holloway, really. There is *literally* nothing to do around there. But I'm guessing they must have made the place nice, because no one is going to stay there for the convenience of the location.

I’ve got it on a pay on arrival with free cancellation deal so I think I’ll have a look about for something a bit more convenient.

It's just that them claiming to be in Camden is stretching the point a little.

I stay at the Travelodge in Tower Bridge for every weekender, I guess three years in a row counts as always. It's roughly £57 a night. £170 for all three nights. About 25 minutes on the tube after the show, nice area, safe, bar in hotel. If you don't mind the tube ride it's fine, I don't particularly like Camden personally. I'd rather stay more central. Hope you find somewhere convenient, try Air B&B should you get frustrated with the hotels. Good luck. Stay positive. 👍

Premier Inn hub at kings cross (actually a 5 minute walk away) has rooms for £41, £78 and £35 for nights Fri through to Sunday. 25 minute walk to Camden and handy for direct tube to bush hall. Rooms are tiny but very comfy a d you can get a great breakfast for £5.

Just to clarify, those prices are for a nonflex booking which means you can't cancel or change, but who's going to do that for the Weekender!

I can't remember if I mentioned this after the weekend(er)s in 2018 or 2019, but it need to be said here anyway: These recent London shows have been the (by far) most intense Hold Steady shows I've been to. I was never able to be a part of the tour curcuit in the US back in the day, but I've seen them at venues all across Europe (Norway, Germany, Netherlands, Ireland, several shows in UK) from 2007 up till to day, and I went to all four Massive Nights shows in Brooklyn in 2017. Nothing compares to the energy, intensity and power I've experiences in Camden. As I said upthread, I've split my weekends both years. Close to the stage on Friday and on the balcony on Saturday. Upfront you get the physical sense that this is pretty wild. But it's maybe even more visible from the balcony. About half the room is actic like the front two or three rows does at a normal show. People sing along to every single tune, and on the six or seven most popular ones, it's competeing with the sound of the band (which says a lot, because these shows have been very loud, a little too loud for my liking). I don't know if all of this is a good or a bad thing, I'm old enough to appreciate being able to stand fairly close to the stage and not have to use energy to not get knocked to the floor. But it's surely something to experience. And I figured it was worth mentioning in this thread.

I was up front both nights last year - Saturday especially was really "fierce" (in the best possible way) - I had the impression that on the Friday Craig was almost a bit "gee, shucks, can't believe you all came out", whereas Saturday was just incredibly focussed. I maybe talking bollocks, I was significantly more booze fuelled on the Saturday!!

Is there a decent bar at the venue? Welcome aboard. There's two bars at Electric ballroom, one up top, a bigger one downstairs. They sell beer, decent enough for me👍 Like mentioned above, Brooklyn is great but London is another level, every THS fan worldwide should put it on their bucket list.

Is there a decent bar at the venue? Welcome- there are several decent bars close to the Camden venue and I'm sure various meet-ups will be arranged here in the days before the gigs. Keep an eye out, and come and introduce yourself!

What I like about the bar in the venue is they'll give you the beer in cans if ya want it - Red Stripe anyway.Much easier to deal with going back throough that crowd and ya can buy a bunch at once.
No way they'd ever let you away with that here.

A small one upstairs, a 360 degree one to the right hand side of the main dancefloor, and one that runs the width of the venue at the back of the dancefloor. I would warn anyone who wants a decent spot to get there early. Those who have been to both Weekenders may have felt this year's was much busier than last year's. That's because it was. The Electric Ballroom was allowed to increase its capacity by 400, from 1100 to 1500, to try to draw attention away from the perilous position of live venues in London. It's now often uncomfortably full, and people arriving 10 minutes before the headliner end up seeing bugger all.

Thanks All. And cheers for the tips! Sounds great. I shall rock up early doors on Friday wearing my 15 pocket combats to allow for sufficient tinnie storage. Bathroom breaks might an issue though! A mate of mine once wore a massive adult nappie at a Springstten gig so he didnt loose his spot. Just wish he'd worn something else as well...Dont think I'll go that far. Be really good to meet some of you folk earlier too and thanks for the offer.

As a short man who got to the balcony early on the Friday then got over excited halfway through and stormed down the front, without barging anyone, I wheedled my way to the very front just fine. As I believe delboydrums did on the Saturday night! It’s a nice balcony though if you’re not into that kind of thing.

This may be a silly question, but i'll ask it anyway as I've not been to a weekend's worth of shows before. I've received my tickets to the Fri and Sat London shows, but they have 'Saturday 7th March / Two Day Season Ticket' printed on the front with no mention of the Friday...
I'm coming over from Australia for the shows and was hoping to take a different mate to each of the different nights (I got 2x season tickets). Can anyone shed any light on the process - do I just show and keep these tickets on the Friday for re-use on the Saturday? Cheers!

Although the printing on the tickets last year was a little clearer.

I'm surprised you've already received your tickets in Australia (talk about a five second delivery), as I live in London and haven't got mine yet. Has anyone else here received them already? Praying the postie didn't steal them

Ugh. Checked my emails and they were sent on the 15th of November. Guess I'll get on to the ticket company...

My tickets were delivered here in Finland today. Same thing with khawker; that missing friday confused me 'cause I also ordered tickets for friday and saturday, but I guess I just reuse it. I saw the Steady at Koko in 2014, and five and a half years later I'm gonna see them again. And now with Franz too. I'm sooo friggin excited!
