They played Epaulets live in Nashville, and it was a lot easier for me to "follow" the first part. (And the whole song sounded pretty great too.)

I’ve held off commenting on this because it’s a weird record. The b-side (or tracks 6-10) being known by all of us. I’ve been trying to listen to it as an album instead of a collection. I think it’s their best album since Stay Postive, and that Blackout Sam is their best song since Entitlement Crew. I mean, at this stage, this cobbled together collection has no right to be so good, but it is. Traditional Village is stunning (love those E Street horns), Confusion in the Marketplace is a great closer, Entitlement Crew is still the best THS sing-along Psalm since Stay Positive and the news they’re still writing and recording will always be enough. Oh yeah, Epaulets. That song is fucking great.

Watching set lists get posted after the summer shows, it occurred to me that Blackout Sam into Resurrection would be an amazing transition toward the end of a set.

They did Crucifixion Cruise into Resurrection in Nashville. It's hard to imagine topping that.
