I really don't have any "good" ideas, except I thought the choices last year were great!
I'm sure the boys will come through again this year!
Wish List (based on nothing):

I'd started this discussion on the other thread but good call making a separate one for it: I haven't done much research, but I still think Mountain Goats is an option. His tour starts up again on the last Massive Night, which makes a performance in Brooklyn on Friday possible. Nov 18 First Avenue Minneapolis, MN Dec 02 Mr. Small's Theatre Millvale, PA I think the band is quite fond of Front Bottoms, and I even think Craig has done something with them live before? A quick Google search suggest I'm right. They play NYC Nov 25th, and their next date is Dec 16th in New Jersey. That leaves them open for all nights. Bash & Pop have their last date of their tour Nov 28th in California. Might be a stretch, but with Steve in the band, it's not far fetched to speculate in them doing one of the nights. Neither So So Glos nor Titus Andronicus have anything booked, so I guess both of them are options. Some of you guys might have a better notion of names in and around the scene in Brooklyn. This years Titus/SSG, so to say. Well, Patterson Hood, as noted above, is in town for a solo show at Rockwood MH on Dec. 1st. He has out of town shows booked on the 30th and 2nd, so, if Rockwood is late... There's some THS connections to High Waisted. Personally, I'd love to see Sunflower Bean open. Super-hot young band out of Brooklyn, and the bass player is my good friend's daughter. I know Craig finally saw Wussy last year, would love to see if they are still on his radar. They are one of the best bands in the country, to me.

Do we know for sure that anyone is opening? Is it possible that there are no openers for any of the shows?

Do we know for sure that anyone is opening? Is it possible that there are no openers for any of the shows? I'm sure there are openers. It was a big part of the fun last year. Still, I feel like we had some hints for at least the first night by this time last year.

Re: The Front Bottoms. I saw them at SXSW a few years ago for the first time. As I was standing there, a few songs in, I thought to myself, “This seems like Craig’s kind of band.” A few minutes later, I looked over to my left and...there’s Craig!

Frank Turner's schedule is open after tonight until 12/8, and we know he loves some Hold Steady.
Really missing the hints on social media this year.

Les Savy Fav gotta be in the running. Craig mentions one of their albums in "Snake in the Shower" and recently sat in with the Seth Meyers band (which includes a couple members) for a week. They don't play many shows, but every year or so they'll do one, I wouldn't be surprised if they pop up for one of these. Amazing live band too.

Based on what was just tweeted out from the band account, looks like its the Whigs on night one, which checks out as the lead singer is in town on the 1st for a solo show.

Maybe I'm being dense, but what was the connection between the Night 1 hint photo and Patterson Hood?

The best I could do is that The Whigs are from Athens, and DBT is also from Athens (though Patterson lives in Portland now).
