Wow. What a weekend.
I can't fathom how lucky I am to love a band with such great fans. Every hardcore fan that made the trek was so fun, welcoming and someone I just want to grab a beer with. We had a nice contingent from Austin which was cool.
Thanks to Brendan for all he does.
Thanks to management for being so cool and even helping me get my little 10 year old obsessed fan to a couple of soundchecks.
But, most of all, thanks to The Hold Steady for not just being there whenever I need them most, but for being all around great guys. It was just a fantastic weekend of music and fun. Hope we can all do it again someday.

In addition to all the thanks Jack mentioned, I'd like to give a big thank you to Rich Tarbell. Your hotel and record store suggestions were perfect. I couldn't possibly have had a more amazing time!!!

Echo the thank you to Rich for his friendliness and conversation! I'm really looking forward to seeing his photos from Saturday night's 'Chillout Tent', since he took 'em right next to me.

Yes, thank you to everyone, the Brooklyn Bowl (great venue), the fellow Unified Scenesters, and of course the Hold Steady. I hope we all get to see this "best" line-up again (and again and again...)
Only one down note, the bad dude upfront on the right side on Saturday night. First, during LFTR PLLR you felt the need to continually back up into me pinning me against the wall by the alleys. Then, during Barfruit, you asked my friend why she had to take up so much room when all she was doing was helping out someone else who asked her to put their cup out of the way on the ledge by the alleys. You embarrassed her so much she left, ruining our night. To make it worse, we were upfront long before you arrived and made room so you and your girl could stand with your friends. If you are not sure who you are, you are the bald-headed one who came with the girl who put on a US shirt after arriving. Really, really not good! You are no True Scene Leader, sir.
Why can't everyone be cool to people of all sizes and shapes and just understand there will be "people touching people they don't even know, yo."

Thanks to Bronwyn, not sure if she is on the boards, but thank you times a million. Thanks to B, he's a saint and glad to see him after so many years. Thanks to my wife, a trooper who while not a big fan, has tagged along while I've went in search of some salvation at these rock n roll shows. Thanks to the band, they've meant a bunch to me from the old Lancaster Lizard Lounge shows all the way up to this one. Thanks to Craig for entertaining my drunk ass for a couple minutes when I started talking to him at Lake St at nearly 2am.
Not sure what the future holds but, the next CF record and tour will hold over nicely while other things fall in to place. Looking forward to 2017.

Thanks to all the people who let me push my way back up front after a quick trip to the ladies room. My husband didn't get through nearly as easily as I did (but of course, he had to stand in that bathroom line forever).
Thank you to all of the scenesters that I already knew for being there. I was also pretty excited to meet Rich finally. I met a guy named Cam who was really sweet and I think from the boards. I met bloodystereos and his wife, and they were GREAT.
The show was great, one of the tightest sets i've seen them do. It was a perfect first show for my husband, who had never seen THS live before.
Thanks for all the hugs and the conversations and the late night pizza and everything else.
If any of you ever end up in Akron, we've gotta get together.

Thank you, THS. Saturday night was well worth the cross-country trip from Los Angeles.

Thanks to management for being so cool and even helping me get my little 10 year old obsessed fan to a couple of soundchecks. Just wanted to add that your son's joy made an already great experience at the Friday soundcheck even better. I've been accused by many of always looking grumpy, but even I couldn't suppress a huge grin when he was jamming out to Spinners. Thanks to the band for an unbelievable four nights -- especially the rendition of Knuckles on Wednesday that was an absolute killer. Thanks to the guest singers on Chillout Tent, who turned one of my not-so-favorite THS songs into something I looked forward to (and was actually disappointed not to hear on Friday night). Thanks to all the native NYCers for the great recommendations (especially Sunshine Laundromat, Peter Pan Donuts, and the Other Half Brewing) and the woman from Minneapolis who, on Thursday night, shamed me into drinking the unsolicited beers that kept magically appearing. Thanks to the other bald guy who had my back on Friday night, when, as things were getting a little ugly, I told one of the dude-bros that "bouncing off of me is fine, but putting me in a choke-hold is decidedly uncool." Thanks to the former goth/rivethead who recently sold some of his early 90s industrial albums to A1 Records, allowing me to pick up what I'm sure will be some surprising gifts for my difficult-to-surprise former-goth wife. Thanks to the guys at Joe's pizza who helped abate any potential hangovers via generously large 3 a.m. slices of pepperoni. And I could go on and on... Instead, I'll just say "Thanks in Advance" to the Hold Steady for doing a 10-year anniversary run in 2018 for Stay Positive. Already looking forward to hearing "Joke About Jamaica."

No really, he was one of the highlights of my weekend. Thanks for letting me take photos of him rocking out during the soundcheck and trusting me to dance with him on Sat night when I finally got to the venue.

tried to hit up all three nights but long story short I couldn't. was feeling really bummed and accepted I wasn't going but after seeing pictures from the first night I just bit the bullet and grabbed a ticket on stubhub. Came down from Maine on Saturday and had the time of my life. So glad I did. Cool meeting a few of you!

What a great three nights. Huge thanks to all the band, of course. Thanks to Galen for some mean piano playing, Bobby for running a great post-show bar, Franz for drinking wine straight from the bottle, Steve for eating chips like a madman, Tad for busting out the double-neck and turning down Steve's guitar, and Craig for bringing us so much joy, night after night.
Thanks also to Brendan, for bringing a double order of love and respect and really unifying the scene. Thanks to the many of you who I saw night after night who made the long waits fly by.
Huge thanks for reprinting those posters. And I'll second the thanks to Joe's pizza who provided some excellent late night slices.

On behalf of my BFF (Peter), huge thank you to the band, Brooklyn Bowl staff, and all the fans for an amazing 3-night run of never-to-be-forgotten rock shows. Had a blast flying solo on Thursday night and meeting and talking with lots of fans (mostly on the smoking deck before/after the show).
Follow that with a very unique experience at the soundcheck/Band Happy Hour on Friday where we made fast friends with Kyle and Dan (?) from Montana (Kyle played guitar on Magazines during the soundcheck) and Dave from Chicago..... we were lucky enough to get pretty awesome space on the bowling lanes right near the stage on Fri/Sat where we met tons of great people on both nights (although i forgot most of the names along the way). One fan (Matt?) even hooked us up with unsolicited wristbands before our lane was ready on Saturday. In general, it was amazing just to be part of such a joyful and engaging experience with so many like-minded souls.
Final thank you to the staff at Lake Street who were very kind and accommodating to all of us hoping to drink and hang out with the band each night. Can't think of many bands willing to hang out with their fans in a public space like that....
Excited to see CF when he comes out west in March and am hopeful about what comes next for THS.... maybe another Brooklyn run next year??

Came to the show by myself but didn't feel alone thanks to y'all :-) I came to the show alone too but definitely wasn't alone. I met Dan (loss1234) from the boards-cool guy, and recognized a couple faces from here. I saw Camie in the bathroom but she looked to be in a hurry so I didn't bug her. If you see this Camie, hi! I loved your dress! It was such an incredible experience and I would come back again for any future shows I could get tickets to!

Thank you also THS for having Boys and Girls on vinyl on sale at the show. I've wanted it on vinyl for a long time and it's awesome to have. It sounds really good and looks great too.
I also love my new BAGIA t-shirt but I have to say the strategic placement of the boy and girl look a bit obscene on me! Haha

Another thanks here. We came from the UK. Loved the Brooklyn vibe. And Rich I saw but he seemed busy so didn't bother him, but a call out to him for his advice on Williamsburg/Greenpoint. As a result we happily walked back the 0.8 miles from BB to the hotel through to the top of Greenpoint via the Pencil factory for some refreshment every night. So much better that getting a cab point to point!
And I have to say, you have it nailed in the US/Brooklyn. I thought the UK scene was pretty awesome, but those 4 nights were in a different league :-)

Sorry, I tend to get a little focused at times. Little known fact - the real Pencil Factory (not the corner bar located across the street) is the former THS HQ and practice space. Cool building with pencils in the cornices.

Traveled down from Ontario for all four nights, the band played amazingly every night. Minus the 3am brawl I got into after Thursday's show that left me with a torn muscle and stone broken hand bones, it was a magical weekend.
Big ups to the Brooklyn bowl staff who were courteous, positive and caring . They set me up next to the sound booth on a stool for Friday and Saturday. I loved their security shirts reading "welcome" instead of "security".
