In my opinion the 6-day build-up to this "announcement" has fanned the fires of speculation a little too hot and I think it is potentially setting some folks up to be disappointed.
If there is no promulgation of new music, if there is no compilation release planned and if there is no record company to speak of, where does the money come from to financially support the backbone expenses of a tour let alone going overseas?
I am taking this all in with realistically tempered expectations and just glad everyone in the band is going to be in the same room for the first time in a long time.
Maybe something bigger comes of it, maybe not.

It would seem a little odd to announce that exciting news was coming for it only to be that they were just getting together to hang out.

If the guys are all back on good terms that's all very lovely for them, but as fans, we have an interest in music and / or performance. Hopefully plans for those will follow. If not, it didn't need the fanfare (no pun intended).

Praise the lord!
-------------
Hey Everyone!
Our Boys & Girls in America album turns 10 this year and we are very excited!
We will be playing a limited number of live shows this fall to celebrate. Our old friend Franz Nicolay will be joining us.
More info on the first few shows will be available Wednesday, May 18. Mark it on your calendar!
(One apology: The plan was that today was going to be the day releasing the precise info on everything. Unfortunately, some details with our co-conspirators changed and it required waiting two more weeks on the details.)
Also, we are finally reissuing Almost Killed Me and Separation Sunday on VINYL this Fall on Frenchkiss Records.
Stay Positive! It’s about to get incredible!

I'm just glad that there's news of one of my favorite bands where I was expecting none. Whether or not any actual news that comes from this is secondary to hearing that these five -- or maybe six? -- guys still consider themselves a band.
edit: and while I was posting that, actual news broke. good times.

This does not constitute "touring". Take it for what it is worth and do not set yourself up for disappointment. That is all I was trying to explain. Limited.

I will travel wherever I must to see these shows. And, the vinyl is EPIC. I'm happy. Maybe like most reunions, it will go well and some more will come of it, but as it stands, I'll take what I can get from my favorite band.

Now that Wussy is firmly on Craig's radar, would love to see at least these two bands work together. At the very least, it'll be a great year! Edited: Of course, the band's announcement was posted before I hit "POST"! Limited or not, this is gonna be a lot of fun!!

Wussy's Summer and Fall are mostly booked out already and they have parenting and job responsibilities that are going to severely cut back their touring ability as a full band beginning in September. But yes, they are very much on Craig's radar. Keep this dream alive.

"Limited" is a sucky word, but it might mean that the tour is short enough I could just latch on and go see all of them. I wonder how I could justify that as a business expense. Anyone think they might be open to a "Positive Jams and Jellies" merch table? I have been meaning to hit the road and take samples to other places for new retail....
I guess I'm doing this! Can't wait to see the dates, and the whole scene!

I'm guessing the "limited" part of this means we won't be getting any shows south of the Mason-Dixon. But Frontier offers super-cheap flights to MPLS and NYC, so there's no way this run will be too "limited" for me to see it.

NYC and Minneapolis seem like locks. Really hoping there's an LA or SF gig as well!
Anyone have any inside info if they're making it to the west coast?
