The Twins are on a winning streak (apologies to the Brew Crew). Also, congrats to Stringer and good luck to jtd7.

I just learned that you can paraphrase 'not wearing underwear' in English by 'to go commando'. Sometimes language really can be fun. In German, there is also the word Kommando. But using this word in an expression that denotes a certain lack of - totally not imaginable in German.

Yes language can be fun. One of my favourites is the English to German translation of 'mobile phone'. A 'Handy' is something VERY different in English...

when things suck I know of two songs which I can turn on to change things:
Sugar Magnolia - The Grateful Fucking Dead Caravan - Van Morrison
I am not sure I'd be alive without either of them.
Turn up your radio and let me hear the song Switch on your electric light Then we can get down to what is really wrong....

So I'm supporting the singer from Nizlopi in November. Big deal for me. Also, he messaged me on Facebook and told me he thinks I rock. So much joy

This happened today.
So. I quit because I was supposed to drop something off at the rv after work. I was talking with Ben and he said they were going to go to the waterpark. So, I figured Okay. I should drop it off before they head off. So her stuff will be there so they don't have to worry about it later. He called to see if they were still there. Star calls me and then I was trying to explain what I was going to do. She gets mad at me because she is claiming she wants a vacation and I am preventing her from relaxing saying I'm trying to make it so it's all my fault. The thing that set her off is I was trying to tell her to relax so I can explain but she just goes off on me and calls me a liar because I keep changing my story. I said I was sorry and that I would just drop it off after work but she just kept going off on me. I ended up making a scene in the bar because I didn't know how to react and just screamed "I QUIT!" after bursting into tears and clocked out then just left. I forgot to return the keys but pretty much returned everything else because I was so furious and upset about shit. She goes through personnel quickly for a reason. Oh, well. Not like she cares. It's all about her.
*************
The last two sentences were uncalled for because she has cancer and she even said her new meds are making her less tolerant of everything. I tried my best but you can only do so much with someone who is angry at everything and turns on everyone.
I'm not sad about losing this job but sad it ended this way and that I let down quite a few people.

I have air conditioning now. Hopefully I won't need to use it, but no more sweating right after showering and watching hockey movies to trick myself into feeling less hot.

I ate fried pickles, falafel, philly cheese steak fries, and a strawberry malt. I got a free backpack, grocery sack, yard stick, and a bottle of tub and tile cleaner. I saw crop art, fine art, horses, cows, rabbits, and a poor guy in a gopher costume. I don't care that it's super cheesy, I love going to the fair.

I am thirty today and it's been a good day. The Twins won last night (it was almost today when we got home from the game), I spent time with my favorite toddler and my favorite adult, I had pancakes and I took a nap. Tonight I'm going to spend time with more people I enjoy.

In other news... I applied for a higher position in our company.. And I got the job. I am now moving to London, to be the supervisor in a store taking at least 3 times as much as the one I'm in now, to be paid an actual salary instead of an extra 30p. This is exciting.

In April I ran the Jersey Mike 5K, my first race in the 21st century.
Last weekend I finished the Philadelphia Marathon. 3 miles to 26 miles- not sure how that happened.
It hurts, but it's worth it.

Who else would let me couch surf, buy me drinks from across the ocean, crack me with their belt, put me up in their hotel room, get me drunk (and maybe high), run to my cab for the biggest hug of all, buy me a shirt, buy me a ticket, buy me a jacket, confess to me, drink my smuggled juice box, give me glitter confetti, knit me mittens, bring me whiskey from Canada, save me from myself in Montreal, comfort and assist me when my cat is dying, trick me into a group photo, make me a necklace, smuggle my flask into a show, smuggle me into the 9:30 club, give me numerous pep talks, pour me Jameson from the stage, pick me up from the airport, pick me up and swing me around, teach me how to drink coffee in the shower, share secrets with me, visit me, lend me a jacket, send me books, send me mix cds, send me cookies and gin, send me flowers, send me cards, believe me, propose to me?
XO WD
(I fucking owe you people. I love you. I will always be here for you. If I've missed anyone or anything, I'm sorry, it's late and I'm a little tipsy.)
