I actually left in the middle of Lord... the setlist was great but I couldn't handle the crowd, and had a few bad interactions with really aggressive dudebros behind me, including one touching me in a super not-cool place multiple times on purpose. Glad everyone had a good time on night 4 though. Yeah, that's not cool anywhere, let alone a HS show. If that kind of thing ever happens again maybe let some non-dudebro looking guys know and we can diffuse the situation...quickly. First post from a guy who used to hang out in pits at Pantera shows:) I'm little but I'm scrappy haha

Hello again, everyone. I'm still going through some withdrawal from those 4 nights of joy. Anyway, my friends and I had an extra ticket to the Boys and Girls night and one of my closest mates could make it last minute. Well, when he showed up, he brought a little surprise with him: A high end digital recorder from his work. He recorded the show and it turned out great. I literally just listened to a few snippets and I got excited. Here's the link. My friend's name is Cory and sometimes we actually call him Hard-Cory. He's a good dude. All the best, www.tinyurl.com/ppc8ux2Awesome tape! 2 more weeks till NYE, can't wait.

i'd like to think that if i saw some shitty bro pulling that kind of nonsense, i'd say something. You would have and you can be sure that we did. Most of them were willing to be friendly, but unfortunately not all of them. It's a small place so they were inescapable.

i'd like to think that if i saw some shitty bro pulling that kind of nonsense, i'd say something. i did, a couple times, to three seperate dudebros. it is hard to reason with unhinged, drunken masculinity sometimes. couple that with this dude behind me who, after being specifically told to "not touch me like that, it is uncool in so many ways," kept grabbing my ass and pulling my head toward his to piss me off and i just couldn't take it anymore. i am really skittish in social situations to begin with, but those dudes quickly stripped me of feeling safe. even if i had told someone, i'd have just taken them away from the show to deal with a situation that i'd have needed to leave anyways... so i just left. regardless of the very not cool saturday night event, during my favourite setlist no less, i really enjoyed my four hol(d)iday shows.

I am amazed that anyone who's that much of a dick can relate to THS.
Wish I could've been there just to have a quiet word with 'em.
Listening to the music / CF's lyrics / being here on the U Scene etc you almost assume that having a decent attitude in such matters would be pretty much compulsory...

Kinda doesn't surprise me in many ways. A lot of Craig's stuff is kinda gutter poetry (in a beautiful way) and unfortunately with it comes some riff-raff attached I guess.

I suppose it could attract that. I would have thought that the message would have got through via repetitions of "unified", "positive" etc.

A lot of people take "positive" and "unified" to apply only to people like them, though. It's overbearingly like that in hardcore. It's a big unified boys club and fuck em if they can't hang. Hell, I've even felt uncomfortable myself at some punk and hc shows due to the overwhelming macho posturing and things like that. A dude nearly fought me at a lawrence arms show this year because I was standing 5 feet closer to the stage than him, and that was to see a band that writes almost exclusively about books. Dude was extremely drunk and wanting to flex his muscles so I just walked away. Ugh.

(It's so depressing when things like that can taint what's mostly a positive thing. I wish all shows could be safe spaces)

Although I think a little energy is awesome to experience at a show...like some dude got pushed into me pretty hard on Saturday night, I turned around, realized it was all in the name of a good time and moved on. A little contact between people doesnt equal a "negative vibe" in my opinion.

Gonna listen to the recording tonight. It would have been quite a journey, from Norway to Canada, to see the concert, but it's pretty unbelieveable that my favourite band played the record that made me discover them front to back on my 30th birthday, and I wasn't even there. Looking forward to hear what it sounded like, though.
