Hi guys, this is coming up soon. Many of you knew, spoke to or have at least heard about Jersey Mike. Point is, we couldn't even have done this if it wasn't for him. He was the first dude to really try to mobilize The Unified Scene. He loved this band deeply and the people he met along the way. He created this iteration of the boards at the end of 2008, and was the guy that secured the web space where the current THS website exists after their old guy split for MySpace. Together, he, campfirewood and I worked together to put it together. It was his motivation, though. He went for it. He was a really good dude. Anyone will tell you that. Jersey Mike Van Jura died suddenly at the age of 36 in November 2012. Mike left behind two young children. Last year, the Jersey Mike Rock + Run 5K was established to raise an educational fund for his kids as well as promote awareness about how running can help prevent conditions like Mike's that led to his heart attack. This year, the event is happening again, not only benefitting the K+L Guardian Foundation, but another family coping with the loss of a parent. The Jersey Mike Rock + Run 5K will kick off at 12 noon on Saturday, April 19 on Harrisburg City Island, Harrisburg, PA. For more info, please visit: jerseymikerun.com/

Is there anything us in the UK can do? I'm sure we can think of something if there's the will. Let's mobilise!

Can't wait to see if I win the Unified Scene division again. I think I did. Also barely beat the first Van Jura across the line (that would be Chris)- I may be wrong on both counts. Good times- much bigger and better organized event this year and the weather was lovely.

May it run for umpteen more. I'd love to see it become an area tradition with the children grown and choosing an annual charity.
