Just giving Teeth Dreams it's first spin, and there is horrendous scratchy surface noise throughout both sides of the record. During the quieter parts of the album it's more audible than a lot of the instruments.
I've tried a few other records on my turntable today to make that that it wasn't a cartridge/speaker issue, but they're playing fine - it's just Teeth Dreams.
Has anyone else's copies had an issue like this? I'm gonna need to get a replacement I think.

I experienced noise on mine too. Gonna give it another spin to make sure. Anyone have the same on the non-gold?

Like, noise between the tracks as well? Or just on the music? I've had trouble with my reciever all weekend, and can't tell those problems from the (potential) sound issues. But when the reciever has been actic nice, I haven't heard any noise that shouldn't be there.
And I have the black version (for now).

Noise in the run in, during the tracks, in between the tracks, and on the lead out groove. It's all in the left channel as well, like a really audible crackle/scratchy noise. I've been through a ton of old and new records today thinking it was my cartridge/needle. It's only Teeth Dreams that is giving me this issue.
The weird thing is, it's the exact same problem for both disks. Almost Everything is pretty much unlistenable due to it.
I've contacted whoever is running the UK store, and should hopefully have a reply tomorrow. Been listening to the digital download, and it's a shame because it is such a great album so far.

If it means anything, I have noticed that with some colored vinyl I have these issues pop up every once and a while.

What a crock of shit. A $40 product shouldn't be released if it's jacked up. Isn't this why they do test pressings?

Is it worth buying the black version off Amazon for £12.99 then?

Don't buy a new one because they fucked up. If the pressing is bad, they should either reimburse people or provide new, working copies. Start sending emails!
I haven't listened to mine yet but I'll check tonight. Not feeling hopeful...

I've had this issue with two copies of the coloured vinyl, one ordered through the band's UK/EU store and the other bought in an HMV store in Glasgow. Both copies have the exact same problem so it seems the entire batch is faulty.

Yep. Mine's the same. It's a real shame.. I don't want to send it back until I know what they can do about it.. If anyone gets a response from the UK store please post it on here.

Said they "hadn't heard anything about this" when I called a brief while back. So, I don't know. Seems like they're more on top of it when it comes to e-mail.

i just played mine and it sounds fine. there's a tiny bit of noise in some places, but i had to listen with my ear pressed up to the left speaker to hear it. nothing at all between tracks or in the runoff grooves. maybe it was the UK/Europe pressing?

I'm in the UK. My copy isn't squeaky clean between the first two tracks, but nothing to complain about. It certainly doesn't ruin the softer bits.

Heard back from the UK store. They were only sent enough copies to send out the preorders so couldn't sort anything themselves. They said they were getting in touch with the label, and would let me know what the outcome is then.

i maybe it was the UK/Europe pressing? I thought it was 1000 copies. In the world.

That's disappointing. Mine arrived yesterday and I haven't played it yet.
On the positive side, it looks amazing.

Ugh, I'm getting CD copy as well as vinyl, but really hope the vinyl sound is decent on my gold european copy else it is going straight back. That is quite a balls up.

Yes! Mine came yesterday - gold vinyl - could not even get through entire second side. Very discouraging. Other vinyl is fine. Emailed MerchNow and am awaiting a response. I experienced this with Pearl Jam's Lightning Bolt, seriously sounded like a Goodwill album. Amazing all the effort into packaging and the look is fantastic, yet the pressing is awful.

Yeah, mine is noisy too, in between songs, in the run off, and it's very audible in quieter parts of songs. Gold vinyl here.

According to the twit-chat thingy, all the albums are getting reissued 'very soon'. It wouldn't surprise me if they are all on coloured vinyl, so I just hope they choose a better factory to press these.
One more thing. I gave me copy of Teeth Dreams a really good deep clean, and it did actually help. You may notice some pale blue or white residue in the grooves and in the run out... Could be something left over from the pressing process, who knows. Did anyone else get that?
