Then again, back in the day if this was on Letterman, Craig would sing, Tad could play guitar and Bobby might bounce a tambourine as Paul Schaffer and the World's Most Dangerous Band played everything else. I always wondered why bands would go along with that (hungry for the publicity I guess....). I remember seeing Fugazi after their first record came out. They finished their set, and people were calling for an encore. Ian explained to the crowd that Guy had gone outside to get some cool air after overheating on stage, but he'd be back in a few minutes. Someone yelled out "play without him" and Ian snapped back "He's in the band, so that's a pretty fucking stupid idea." I always liked that philosophy way better than 'you're our bass player/drummer/rhythm guitarist...except when we go on Letterman' Well, at least some of you would finally get to see a bald guy playing keyboards with them again. I got a good chuckle from that one!

They seemed to enjoy themselves. It must be hard to setup and play one song and then walk off the stage.

Well... Steve fucking slayed that solo. Amazing!!! the worst part about this song is that silent moment right before that. i feel like a nervous parent watching a gymnastics dismount of their kid off the uneven bars. nailed it. Im expecting people to start clapping there.

They've done it in the past at a few shows. I've seen an Epi Valve Jr. pointed at his head before.

...when did Jay Bennett join DBT? (on the left) Jay Bennett took the Great Dirt Nap a few years ago. You mean Jay Gonzalez. I can't keep track of the Truckers shuffling line-ups but I do know it has been more than two year now as I took this photo in early 2012 when I shot an acoustic DBT session he did with Patterson Hood. And yes, I sent McQ the photo because of The Glands shirt, of course I did.

Jay Gonzalez has been in the band for a few years. He was playing keyboards, but after John Neff left last year, Jay moves up the stage to play guitar every now and then.
I'm really thrilled that DBT and THS have new albums coming out at the same time. It's going to make my year, I think.
