I'm pretty psyched for this. Been way too long. Probably going to Philly and NYE shows, but when I realized this one was so much sooner I jumped in with some friends who already had tickets.
so yeah, bring it.

Hope you guys get a different opener than we had in Va Beach. "Natural Child" or some such. Pretty awful- came out &right off the guitar player dissed the venue. Hope they were cheap to bring on tour.

Sweet Payne. Killer Parties. A stage invasion. I have missed you Hold Steady. Glad to see you've still got it. Also met jerseymike. He seems like a nice dude.

i got weepy as all hell when Craig and Tad started pulling people up on stage. I *almost* charged down off my balcony and through the packed crowd to join. But realized the crying pregnant lady should probably remain where she was. anyway, i took a few notes on the phone, but was frequently distracted; so the setlist was something like this: Constructive Summer Hot Soft Light Swish You Can Make Him Like You Rock and Roll Problems Magazines Girls Like Status Sweet Part of the City Teeth Dreams Multitude of Casualties Stevie Nix Stuck Between Stations Sequestered in Memphis Chips Ahoy Sweet Payne Weekenders Wait Awhile Your Little Hoodrat Friend Southtown Girls Hurricane J --- Massive Nights Stay Positive Killer Parties Shit, I'm a little weepy again just thinking about it. What a night.

You nailed the setlist exactly. I took a blind photo of it then tried not to peek the rest of the night, but have no idea how to post a pic. My ears are still ringing...

Such a nice surprise, this show was.
Loved the sound of Wait Awhile. Very Tad/Separation Sunday-esque.
I follow and love this band like most people follow their favorite football team...been to dozens of shows, etc.
And when I say this show happened in the last twenty minutes, I mean it HAPPENED in the last twenty minutes.
That stage invasion? FUCK! I totally got choked up when it was happening.
So. Much. Joy.

Every now and again I don't listen to THS for a while and I wonder if my love for them isn't as strong as it was. That video reminded me that some things will never change.

I've been smiling inside all day long, despite the numerous bruises and sore spots that seem to be appearing from head to toe.
So, glad that you got that video, John. That's me in my US shirt in the back corner. I'll say it again, great crowd. Always nice to cut loose and not worry about someone getting miffed. Craig threw beer !
