i went to see john k samson tonight. GREAT show. they played most of the LP plus some different arrangements of weakerthans songs. he did a few by himself, too. and at one point he picked up the bass and they did "gifts" and the fast version of "anchorless"! i've wanted to hear those live for 15 years thanks for mentioning that. I'm going to try and see him next month. should be a great show!

Saw Franz on Friday at a houseshow. Good times. Went to go see Franz again last night with Kepi Ghoulie, Vic Ruggiero and Kevin Seconds. They all played on each other's sets, and Kepi was a particularly loveable entertainer. The whole night was a rockin good time. And Maria and played and sang with Franz too. Shivery and delightful!

Yeah, I saw the Franz/Kepi/Kevin show. I loved it. Some of you may know that my fav punk rock band from when I was a kid is 7Seconds. And now, I can't stop saying, KEVIN SECONDS STAYED AT MY HOUSE!!! AT MY HOUSE!!! OMG. I highly recommend the show.

Contemplating Hank Williams III in Manchester in June. I kind of like about 50% of what he plays and 25% of what he sings.

Saw Springsteen in NYC last night. It was fantastic and blew away Tuesday's otherwise excellent show.
The best news is that this time he did sleep over my house. Over breakfast he was telling me that he might need a place to stay while he is in Dublin this summer. He's a bit worried that there won't be enough revenue to cover costs for a decent hotel. Please PM me if anyone can accommodate him.

AT MY HOUSE!!! OMG. I highly recommend the show. XOWD I'm troubled by the lack of support shown for these Franz shows (Hoodrat excluded of course!) It is depressing that people who should know good music don't support someone with so much talent and such good pedigree. He is coming to a venue near you, I promise. No matter where you live on this planet except Australia, Franz is playing a show reasonably near you this year. Beijing? Got you covered. Tibet? See you there. European summer festival? Check. Tell him I sent you and he'll sign your cast for free. PS: if you have vegetarian food on hand, punk rock legends will probably stay at your house too.

I saw "The Antlers" on Tuesday night in Berlin's legendary "Berghain". I kind of regret that I never went there clubbing during my time in Berlin. This place is pretty special. I didn't know too much from The Antlers before, just had been listening a couple of times to their album Hospice. I guess they are pretty good at what they are doing, but to me, just a little bit too much of ooh-ooh-vocals.
Also for me: first Boss show on May 30th in Berlin.

i've played/been to about a thousand shows and i keep forgetting to update. i'll just say this: generation from CA might be the worst "band" in existence

Old stuff heavy set from Alkaline Trio last night. Dave Hause supported and played a good chunk of Constructive Summer in the middle of his last song.

Quite a lot from the first few albums and at least a couple off the EPs.
Brother Ali on Friday. Missed him last time around, very excited.
