Are you sure this is legit? Why would it be $8?

Just for everybody's information, as if you couldn't already tell, this isn't legit and doesn't benefit the band.

It is a bit fishy. Why wouldn't they put it on their merch site first? If it's really from Sabot Productions, how come their catalog says it's still out? Why sell it for $8 when new vinyl invariably sells for $15-$20?

Just for everybody's information, as if you couldn't already tell, this isn't legit and doesn't benefit the band. Fine, don't order and pay 50 bucks when this pressing is sold out. No Idea is a ridiculously legit record label/distro. Sabot Productions licensed the pressing from Vagrant in 2006. They are really that cheap because they are a small label that actually gives a shit. They still sell Against Me's Reinventing Axl Rose for 8 dollars and even sold it for $6 up until a couple of years ago. Sabot sells through No Idea because they are both in Gainsborough and Sabot is run by Jordan (of Jordan's First Choice) who often goes on tour with Against Me and can't run the mail order. It wouldn't go up in their merch store because it is (likely) a smaller pressing and the label is not affiliated with Vagrant. I guarantee you the band benefits from this, if not now, when it was licensed from Vagrant for a lump sum. Another thing, vinyl is overpriced....as listeners of vinyl we are being taken advantage of by larger records labels who see it as an alternate revenue stream as their CD sales have dropped. Also, if you aren't sure about the label - Franz Nicolay's new LP is being released by Sabot as well. Phew, good thing we have a member of the scene police around here to let everyone know what's legit or not. What would we ever do....

If these guys are a scam then they put in some serious work to make them look legit, like a myspace page goin back for years with a ton of fans.
I'm in. Probably will be comin back for more too, you got an excellent collection of vinyl there. Thanks for the heads up sirrichardrichard.

The question wasn't raised about them scamming people, the question was raised about this being a legit pressing of BaGiA.

Crazy to me how people think this is not real. BUY IT It's a repressing of an incredibly popular album by a small label that most people probably haven't heard of with no fanfare from the band's label, eg, it's a kind of underground thing. I'd be shocked if people weren't questioning it. EDIT Well I'll be damned. I have a frien who works in the same office as Jake and apparently it's legit. I eat my words and apologize; thanks for the link.

I've ordered from No Idea for years and years.
They are legit. If you have any questions, just go to their page an e-mail them. Jennifer will probably email you back within 24-48 hours.
It is a suprise to me to see that it's available because I had no clue it was repressed, but if you're unsure, take the initiative and ask No Idea - they're good people have great thing going.

seriously, how is it so many people are unfamiliar with no idea? a sampling of the bands released on/affiliated with the label include hot water music/chuck ragan, lifetime, against me, j church, less than jake, fay wray... the list goes on. i've been ordering from them for 15 years, they're certainly not new to the game.

BAGIA we knew would happen eventually. AKM and SS are like 976593:1 to get repressed (not one million to one, cause those odds actually happen). It's just not cost effective for vagrant to repress them (rights issue) and the owners to the vinyl seem Yo display no wish to actually do it. Although when they do, I'll eat my hat and buy like, three of each.
