I'm debating a possible trip... It'll depend on my project schedule in school, which I should know in a couple weeks. If its not too stressful, then I'll try!

I too will be driving from Atlanta with my little brother... The ticket details say anyone under 21 has to pay a $3 cover, but that there is limited seating for patrons 21+ only... I'm assuming that means all the seats are at the bar?

So are there any good dives/bars near the venue my friends and I can get drunk at before the show? Come on Bham, show me some of that southern hospitality.

I'm heading over from Atlanta...we're shooting for a 6:00 (central time) pregame someplace near Workplay.
Anybody familiar with the Stillwater Pub? (http://www.stillwaterpub.com/)...it looks as if it's just down the block. Decent draft beer list, plus happy hour until 8:00 PM).

It's kind of weird the only people on this post are people from atlanta. What the hell birmingham, way to represent.
I'm calling it right now, Patterson Hood guest appearance.
See you guys at Stillwater.

I'm calling it right now, Patterson Hood guest appearance. That would be awesome, but the Truckers are in Dallas tonight.

AHHHH!!! Freakin' awesome show... Showed up about two hours early with my brother, so we just walked around the area. Eventually ended up back in front of the Workplay where none other than Craig Finn was talking on his cell phone. As we passed, we shared a handshake, but that was it. (I wouldn't want to be bothered while on my cell phone.) Got into the venue and loved it! I'd never been to the Workplay, and I can honestly say it was a pretty cool setup. The stage was a decent height, the staff was nice (not Nazi-like the way I'm used to here in Atlanta) and the bottle of water was only $2, as opposed to $5. Wintersleep lived up to expectations, although its easy to see that they've still got a lot of maturing to do in the live performance category. They still rocked the house pretty well, and got everyone ready. The show itself was great. My past two THS shows I was safely tucked away to Tad's left, but tonight I decided to man the center-stage position, and I'm glad I did. Nothing beats that feeling of being near the epicenter of it all. From the first lines of "Positive Jam" to the closing rush of a chorus that is "Stay Positive", there's nothing like looking Craig in the eye and telling him that 'we couldn't have even done this if it wasn't for you!' Big props to the girl who joined alongside me for that last five songs or so... You were quite attractive, and although I was the victor in the battle for the guitar pick and the setlist, I look forward to future shows! A big "WTF" to the guys in the center who, immediately after the lights went on after THS, started fighting. I obviously have no idea who was "wrong", but the violence wasn't needed, and in all honestly, it can kind of put a damper on things. This was supposed to be a party, but I guess some people take it too seriously. Finally, thanks once again to the entire Unified Scene for another awesome night of my life! Even in the relatively small market of Birmingham, I had a fantastic time and you all made it worth the 3-hour drive from Atlanta. I'm betting I might have to come back in the future!

There was either a new song or a cover in the mix - any idea what that was?
Oh, and there was a couple in front of me - I was in front of the sound board - that was doing a real-life re-enactment of "Magazines" the whole night. Complete with texting each other while standing next to each other and the "storming off to the restroom." We were referring to them as "Midnight Oil" (bro was bald) and "Blondie" all night.

"Goin' On A Hike" was the "new" song... They've been playing it a few times this year. I know they played it in Atlanta earlier. I think its from the HIW sessions, but I'm not sure.
I think I remember that couple, too... Haha!

Great show last night, per usual. The band looked like they were having an awesome time. I thought the venue was lame. What was with all those tables and couches? And the staff in those silly little uniforms? It was more like a venue for interpretive art or something. Thought the Birmingham crowd was way too tame, I'd turn around and see everyone kind of just standing there, it got better towards the end of the show though.
