I will be sure to offer a hello.
'Tho if you see me and think that you may have also seen me causing serious amounts of drunken havoc in Big Hands after the last show in Manchester, that was not me, that was my ridiculous twin brother who was having a very drunken night that night.
I am seriously still so very excited about this. I feel like I snatched victory from the jaws of defeat. Honestly, I've been grinning ear to ear all day!

Arrgh. Was going to buy my ticket for this tonight, only to come up against 'Sold Out' messages on any site that had been offering tickets. If there's a single ticket that anyone has going spare here, I would snap your hand off for it immediately. And probably buy you a drink or three of your choice at the gig, of course!

He must have posted them out pretty much after speaking to me (he being the guy who sold me them). Woo! I shall go to Crash for other ticket needs in future should they happen to be selling.

My plans have typically changed, and it's just my luck that I'm now available for this when it's sold out.
Would appreciate a heads up for this bad boy if any tickets become available, two would be incredible, but just one would still be ace - thanks all!

After going through all the turmoil of finding out about the gig and finding out it was sold out simultaneously. I drew my plans to see The Holds Steady.
I could a) Go to see them support The Counting Crows at MEN. Not ideal since I don't like TCC much and MEN is simply too big. b) Go to Cambridge and spend loads of money on petrol to see a band in an unfamiliar town on my own. c) Talk to the very nice girl I met at New Year who lives in Falmouth and take her, accepting the huge petrol bill as inevitable cost of meeting girls who live so far away. d) Look on Ebay.
Falmouth didn't happen so now I've just spend a silly amount of money on two tickets off Ebay. I'm taking my old man and I hope the gig is as good as the Irish Center gig last year. I saw them in Sheffield and they weren't quite as good. Crowd not as into it or something

Fingers crossed some more crop up on there, though you certainly did pay a pretty penny for them; no doubt worth it, though ;D

Jugglingeek - interesting set of options. In 2007 I saw the guys 3 times in the Yorks/Lancs area - with people I knew in Leeds and Manchester and I went over to Liverpool on my own when someone dropped out. As it turned out at Liverpool that the size of the small Academy room and being on my own meant that it was easy to get talking to other fans and also the band who were out and about in the bar area before they went on. I also was at the Counting Crows Liverpool Summer Pops gig where Craig and the guys blew CC offstage and there were a hardcore of us at the front making plenty of noise. I would go on my own to a strange town again as I think the community makes it all worthwhile.

I knew that out bidding would mean that some other poor sod didn't get them. I would have spent almost as much on petrol as I over paid and now I can drink plenty and walk home

... I also was at the Counting Crows Liverpool Summer Pops gig where Craig and the guys blew CC offstage and there were a hardcore of us at the front making plenty of noise. I was at this too and I saw it as THS played fairly enthusiastically and noisily to a crowd who weren't that bothered, and there were a few of us singing along near the front, but there was no point going mad as you would have just pissed a lot of people off (I think we did this rage/non rage discussion over the Sheffield show last time out!) . Counting Crows then came on and really were excellent with the crowd being right into them. My conclusion would be not bother with a THS support slot and go all out to see them do a(ny) small headlining gig.
