my recording came out really great, better han my previous 2 by a country mile! woohoo! and i got 13 very watchable videos as well. sound quality isn't anywhere as good as the straight recording, because the mic in mi camera is for shit, but it's good enough. will try to get everything posted by monday night, tuesday sometime at the latest. was great meeting everyone and many thanks to hoodrat for hosting and feeding us!

AMY/HOODRAT/HOSTESS OF THE MILLENIUM: thank you for having us over! I haven't quite recovered from that delicious tempeh burger. It was so much fun to hang out and meet you "officially" (despite having danced next to you at the Jack Daniels show for the whole night).
!!What an amazing show!! So wonderful to meet so many of you. I got a setlist, which I'll photograph and put up soon!

Duuuuuuuude! I have now been to 8 shows and that was by far the best so far. It featured no less than four songs I'd never ever heard live before. They started it off with a Positive Jam, took us to HOSTILE, MASS, introduced us to those Southtown Girls, and slowed it down during the encore with a little Citrus. We got Resurrection AND Killer Parties. Ample SS cuts, Stay Positive material sounded great, OH and History Lesson Pt II! My favorite part though was definitely the baby punx raging in front of me, studded leather jackets and all. None of them were older than 17, and it was their first Hold Steady show! They knew all the words to every song, thrashed around like crazy, and the girlpunk and guypunk even kissed at the end of Citrus! Young punx in love is a beautiful thing. Anywho, it was so fun hanging with jeb, hoodrat, katieee, buddymo, BrightNewMinneapolis, and several others that I'm surely forgetting. I had a blast. NYC, show me what ya got! PS, I'm happy to report that my good friend Liz was in attendance for her very first THS show tonight, and she thoroughly enjoyed it!

SO glad I got to go. I've been waiting to hear Cattle and the Creeping Things live for two years now. I think this was time number five seeing the Hold Steady and it rivals the best.
Setlist from memory, parts not in order. I'm sure someone will post the correct one.

Man...what a great show. I really enjoyed the amount of Seperation Sunday material. Hornets! and Cattle And The Creeping Things are some of my favorite Hold Steady songs.

Saw all y'all out there last night with your shirts on, and it made me fondly recall the nascent early days of the internet when a bunch of folks from the Postal Blowfish email list would all meet up for Guided by Voices shows. Great times... enjoy them, relish them, document them! Here are photos I took at the show - feel free to use 'em for whatever. Am eager to hear the recording - this was a show worth holding on to for awhile! www.flickr.com/photos/74188640@N00/sets/72157619416622854/cheers, Rupe

This was show #11 (I think) for me, and it was probably top two or three. awesome performance.
I was sporting my homemade Hostile, Mass t-shirt but totally not expecting that song to actually be played. So that was an excellent surprise.
Killer Parties and Resurrection, too. All around fantastic. Can't wait for the audio/video to get posted somewhere.

That was pretty incredible. I'm pretty pleased with myself for deciding to fly up to DC for one night to catch a show. I didn't expect to end up nearly front and center like a 14-year-old, but those things just happen sometimes.
Thanks to Amy for putting together the cookout and hosting all of us. As great as the show was, it might have been even cooler spending a beautiful late-spring day hanging out with a little cluster of clever kids. It was great meeting everyone - hope to see y'all at some shows in the future!

Any votes for the best song of the night? Citrus and Magazines were my favorite performances, I think.

Cattle or Resurrection, I think. It was all great, but I've really wanted to see Cattle live, and Resurrection was a great closer for the main set.
