i believe you're right, amy. Eeergh! That was me, I put it in my top 3 Hold Steady B-sides, half because it is one of my favourite songs and part just to let you all know that I've heard it so I could bask in your delicious envy. Ballad... has also been recorded in a studio. i believe amy and myself were wrong, ben. sorry.

I confess to really enjoying that "You're Never Alone in New York" song. Stylistically, I feel like it's a bit of a stray from Craig's usual lyrics-- just a tad bit more singer than storyteller, if that makes sense?--but he makes it sound damn good.
EDIT: to say that I am, of course, biased. I think that all the songs Craig Finn has sung on sound good.

Although at first I was really dissapointed at Craig's part in "You're Never Alone In New York."

That P.O.S. song was such a great surprise when I first heard it. The album was suggested to me, and when I hit Safety in Speed I had an attack of pure positivity.

Craig narrates some lines at the end of "A Pot In Which To Piss" before it kicks into "Four Score And Seven" off of Titus Andronicus' The Monitor.

"You're Never Alone in New York" is really weird! Can't decide whether I like it or not.

I finally got around to doing an update to this list, and I've noticed that the whole Wiki needs some updating work, haha!
The only thing I didn't touch on the list was the "Never studio released" and "Never studio released covers."
Definitely needs a second/third/fourth/etc set of eyes.
