I'm broke as hell, but I'm going with two of my buddies.
Coincidentally, I am going to Madison with 40 bucks. 40 bucks and my favorite band.

Hey all - I will be going to the show tonight, but I now have two extra tickets.
$25 bucks each covers my cost. They are available first-come, first-serve to a good fan. Email me your phone number at dwolfe5001@hotmail.com or - if you can't email - let me know how to reach you.
I can hand-deliver the tickets before the show.

I sent you an email raullobo. Side note: Is anyone bringing confetti? I know Joe and I have brought it to the last few shows we have gone to. No one mentioned it, so I am heading off to the party store to pick some up. I'll package up some baggies, so if any of you want some, I'll be in the Great Dane before the show. I have red hair and am always in a dress. You can't miss me. Missalabama - I had to book at the hilton, we were too late and the concourse only had left doubles.

Arrangements have been made and I should be in town by 6. Hopefully, Joe is alone in the shower, although it would probably only be a three minute delay.

What was the name of that opening band for the Madison show?

I think we should be able to buy a lifetime subscription to the concerts of these guys. I know some would get more bang for their buck but last night was, at least, a thousand dollar night. By comparison, it's like at the end of the movie "Galaxy Quest" where the ship is dragging all those bombs. The band is the ship but all those bombs are the fans. I had a fantastic time, met some very nice people and reconnected with some others. The only place I didn't get to was backstage. But standing ten feet from Tad while Craig is belting out "Yeah Sapphire" in my face was unforgettable. I was asking, "Where's the Unified Scene?" and people kept saying, "Up in front" and pushed me forward. Just amazing. I mean, they were moving me forward. It's a special group of people who make up their fans. I finally met some US folk after the show. I hope you guys had a safe trip to MPLS. I'm fighting impulses to follow. But it was a great time for me and if I had my Universal Life Church minister's license with me, I swear I could have married at least two couples. I strongly encourage all of you to grab your friends and see this band every chance you get. They are so tight and they have the best fans. I could not be more satisfied, unless I was in Minneapolis today. Love to all. This was a wonderful life experience.
Happy anniversary, Joe and Shenelle. What a night!

I told my son, "Remember this band. You'll be hearing more from them. I'll be wearing their shirt tonight. I had fun teasing them last night during autograph begging. Great harmony and a damn fine band.

We had a blast. In fact, I just woke up. Joe is passed out on the couch since he got stuck doing the driving. Other then the show just being totally awesome, I still got confetti in my hair. And sorry for giving away beers to everyone in the front. My ths-virgin friend felt compelled to order beers by challenging the bartender with how many miller high lifes she could hold. Even though me and all my friends had 2 beers in our hands already, she kept appearing with 8 on random occasions. Thanks to the guy for the free coaster. I dug through the gross ground to give it back to you!
Also, NEVER EVER stay at the Hilton down there. That place was worthless. Me and a few friends (Yes, we were drunk) were in our room for nearly 3 minutes before we got a phone call for being too loud. Then we realized that the hotel door wasn't actually shut all the way. So after apologizing, we turned off the music, shut the door, and used our inside voices. And 15 minutes later, we had a security guard at the door telling us to hush. So then we used our inside-inside voices. 10 minutes after that we got a phone call from the front desk again, but this time the guy was a raging. He kept telling me "You be quit or I am putting you out on the streets tonight!". I was arguing back, cause in all seriously, we were super fucking quiet and practically whispering to each other. He said the couple next to us has to use "ear plugs" cause we were so loud. I told him to come up and hang out so I could prove him wrong. A few minutes after that the toppers guy showed up at our door and told us he was done at the desk when the dude was raging. He also told me he couldn't even hear us down the hall. I gave him an extra tip to tell the front desk guy to fuck off, which I'm sure he didn't do, but I had my fingers crossed. Shortly after that, everyone left. Joe and I were in bed, with the TV off. I was literally 2 seconds from snoring the booze off when the security guard knocked again telling us we were being too loud. I was like dude," We are sleeping. We can't even breath?" He sympathized with me and pointed to the room to the right of us. It was pretty clear whoever was next door were totally little bitches and should of just came to us instead of calling the front desk non stop. Fucking pussys. Wait till I review that shit hole on expedia. Grrr!

OK, I was so there. I brought a first-time fan, and so he refused to be in the front. So I was about 25' back. Never again.

25' back is fine for most band's but not for The Hold Steady.

No, it's best if you're right in their lap.

No, it's best if you're right in their lap. I'm a little large to be sitting in someones lap. The first three or four rows are fine with me. I'm tall so I usually let the short one's stand in front of me. That's a big part of what I like about seeing the band is that the very front, remains for the most part pretty friendly and good natured and helpful That's also why I like to see DBT, and why back in the day I loved seeing The Dead.

Figuratively speaking. And I'm only 5'5", so most everyone can see over me.
