One in Leeds, one in Norway, one in Suffolk, one in Nottingham, two in New York and - I think - 12 in London.

I have only four to my name, but I don't go to many gigs even for bands I like a lot, so four is pretty good going! And I have one more lined up for less than a month away!!
10 July 2007, Cockpit, Leeds: I went solo to this gig because no one I knew in this country was into the band, and I bumped into the band outside and spazzed quite a bit. I got an awesome photo of us and I skipped inside feeling gleeful, and the gig was awesome, and at the end of the night I put on the ALMOST KILLED ME t-shirt I had purchased over my own shirt and walked to the train station sweaty but exuberant. It was a night of amazing joy!
30 August 2007, Electric Ballroom, Camden: still on a high from the Leeds gig, I booked up for Camden, and I went with my friend Hannah. The support band were terrible and we spent a lot of time seeing if Daniel Radcliffe was there. (He was not, as far as I know.) The guys were awesome again!
10 July 2008, The Irish Centre, Leeds: what a crazy venue. It felt like being at a wedding reception until the music got started. It was awesome. I met a lot of the Scene. I felt super nervous about that, but of course Han was a star and I loved her even more in real life! We hung out with the band. It was cool. I wish I could have stayed out later! I only just made my train - I ran across Leeds station like the WIND - and tried not to have a heart attack as I collapsed inside the carriage. I grinned at my Galen-signed ticket all journey long.
30 September 2008, Manchester Academy - another great night and another opportunity to meet more of the scene! I was with my friend Katie and she was pretty worn out by the end of the gig so I missed out on karaoke, but I got to bring Han cake and that is what counts.

. The Chumpion, Evan, Sportfishing, Confetti Mike, Evan and Emily are in here too, as you can see. NP: Breukelen and Stephanie. Sorry if I missed you. I'm right behind you! That show was amazing. First time meeting much of the scene. First time in the midwest (and hopefully not the last) I clogged the shower drain with all the confetti and of course those great Animal Collective fans.

August 2006 Lollapalooza. Chicago - walking away from a disappointing set by another artist I heard someone talking about saints and martyrs.....
Nov 2006 The Social, Orlando Looong day. Looked in the mirror and laughed, I was wearing nothing that matched. Short Bus Special and a head cold. Some guy at the show kept trying to get me to come meet the band / get my poster signed. I was like, dude, no, leave me be. Please. Seriously. Go away.
March 2007 The Social, Orlando Gave a ticket away at the gate, Same bald guy, went into the pit to avoid him. Hung off back rail. Later Koob went to pull me up front to the stage, made eye contact, veered away. Safely on edges of scene.
August 2007 Lollapalooza, Chicago Made of awesome.
January 19, 2008 - Czar Bar - Ybor Cty, Tampa, FL Time for the Resurrection. Talk to Koob about child rearing. Talk to so many others, about so many things, like them all. (Awesome bathroom attendant, ask me sometime.) Exhausted on my feet. Julie thinks she hears CF dedicate Positive Jam to Liz, freaks out. I'm like, there's more than one Liz here. She's like, not with cancer! I'm like, dude doesn't even know me. Am now inescapably a scenester. This makes me one degree of separation from the Ass Ponys and now acquainted with a number of awesome people. Lots of them lawyers. I like lawyers. Decide to go with it. Homeless guy tells me I'll be alright. Believe him.
Nov 2008 - The Moon - Tallahassee Get lost twice. Barely get there. Have to be up at five for more travel. Squeeze show in the middle. Meet the amazingly lovely Tabitha. Realize the Resurrection is still a work in progress. Fall down, but fall down happy.
It's officially been too long since a show.

It's officially been too long since a show. you should totally come to dc. I don't see DC on the calendar - when is that? In a Sign From The Whatever, my best pal in Dc just left me a message. Nevermind - just found it - booked to take the kids to WDW that day. They Would Not Understand.

Rescue Rooms Nottingham - Met Ben & Rachels Dad, missed Hannah, Koob came a cropper on the banister. Lupo's Providence RI - First outing for Seann's shirts although I passed mine going the other way whilst crossing the Atlantic but because of them met Mr & Mrs Brukelen & Jonesie. 2008 Academy 2 Manchester - First UK US gathering Koko London - Hungover, see above Great Escape Brighton - Koob took a picture of me? Irish Centre Leeds & Academy Newcastle - Howard Roberts is the Man! Hyde Park London - A crowd of 45,000 but I still spot the US shirt worn by SteveDave A couple of 'in store' shows then Oxford, Manchester, Bristol, Roundhouse and the Hootenanny finish off the year. 12/1/06 Tallahassee - Beta Bar - got hooked. Overheard Tad being totally inclusive with some random fan.
3/12/07 Tallahassee - Club Downunder - wound up on stage for Killer Parties, became a fan for life, met JWD without knowing it.
5/24/07 Boise - Neurolux - reunited with friends and had a drink with Bobby.
8/8/07 Brooklyn - Prospect Park - met JWD and WD, met Tad. Tab got her first introduction.
10/25/07 Athens - 40 Watt - Met up with JWD and some more good US scenesters.
10/26/07 Knoxville - Bijou - Met my Tenn. friend, first seated show. Good time with Ben and band down the street at a bar after the show. Great fun getting late night food with Federale later.
11/17/07 Birmingham - Bottletree - BEST SHOW EVER - Thank you Ben, Stephanie, Joelle, Jen, Juliet. Sorry if I stood in front of anyone. On stage again and fucking loved it.
1/19/08 Ybor City - Czar Bar - Biggest Unified Scene meet up. Started strong, got fuzzy toward the end. Met Rich and Polly, Phils Fan and his better half, WD, JWD, Addy, Juliet, meoskop, bowery, JOHN CAKE, et al. Later met Hoodrat, but at a disadvantage, sober-ness-wise. On stage for Killer Parties for the last time. Little memory (embarassing night, but fun just the same).
8/9/08 Athens - 40 Watt. Another great show, saw John and his brother and a couple of other cool guys.
11/02/08 Tallahassee - The Moon - with DBT. Great to hang out with Stephaine. See JWD and meoskop, and family and friends.
3/31/09 Albany - Valentines- Saw a bunch of great folks.

4. August 07, 2007 - Sala Rossa - Montreal, QC (Tad mooched gum off me. Craig broke his tooth on the mic. WD: Is this the shot of Jameson show or was it the previous Montreal show?) On behalf of WD: That was the show. We could have carpooled from Toronto.

I remember an Emily also being there. I WAS there. I don't think Kim was, though. I'm not even going to attempt to do this. Lots of shows, all of which have been either on or east of the Mississippi.

I think "those animal collective fans" was just directed at the few near the front who wouldn't let us leave, not to all animal collective fans everywhere. They were getting a little violent about letting us by, actually. I got pulled out by some guy I didn't know.

1. November 13, 2008 - Bluebird Nightclub - Bloomington, Indiana
There for the DBT, but heard good things in advance from Patterson, bought Stay Positive and Boys and Girls in America the week of the show. Impressed and intrigued going into the show - blown away by the Elvis Costello looking dude with more energy, stage command, intelligence, and good old fashioned rock and roll FUN than the last 15 new bands I've seen put together. Can't forget the ape costume either. And who are these super fans that I overhear talking about the last 4 shows on the tour? There was even a group of guys in their 50's. I thought I was the oldest guy there.
Made the decision that I had to get to the sold-out show in Chicago the next night without a ticket to see this band again - to see if it was real.
2. November 14, 2008 - Riviera Theatre - Chicago, Illinois Took the day off work and drove to Chicago got to the club at 4 and started wandering around for someone to sell me a ticket. Soon I recogized a face from the night before - nice guy introduces himself as Brendan. He ends up first in line. Everyone who is in the front of the line is here for their 4th to 10th THS show. Wow. A lot of us are by ourselves and traveled to be here. I don't remember the last time I saw so much dedication to a band. The show? Now I'm sold for life. The encore with DBT? Did I mention that they were my favorite band (now with eclipsing competetion from THS)?
3. April 3, 2009 - Illini Courtyard Cafe - Urbana-Champaign, Illinois Made a committment to travel to KC,MO with a friend and can't be at the Bloomington show that I was so excited about. Compromised and went to this show. Waited in line for hours, geeked out watching soundcheck through the window blinds, amazed again by the dedication of the fans, I know I've found something special - a combination of the band and the scene. First 3 songs I get to sing amost face to face with CF with the unelevated stage. Still sad that I chose discretion over valor and bugged out of being up front with the crush situation.
Upcoming for sure: 4: June 21, 2009 - Taste of Randolph Street -Chicago, IL
Upcoming Maybe - June 16, Cincinnati opening gig (if I can score getting in and getting out pre DMB)
