Hey guys, was wondering if you could help me out with a lyric I can't understand, and apparently none of the lyrics sites on the net can understand either. In the last verse of "Joke About Jamaica" off Stay Positive, I've got no clue what he's saying after "firing and...." Here's the lyrics around it so you have a clue what I'm talking about: Cool song. Dig all the Zep references and the idea of the aging barfly/groupie. Any clues as to what he's saying there? Thanks!

I'm pretty sure he's saying "Flyering and stickering", as in for shows/bands.

Ah, that makes good sense. Thanks. Anybody disagree?

Kids today and their "CD booklets" in my day we just had badly tagged, low quality illegally obtained MP3s off Napster and latterly Audiogalaxy.

How's music doing these days?

Really? It's "weren't"? I thought it meant like, back then, they were convinced they'd be stars, hence the faithful flyering and stickering. What a UNIFIED SCENE FAUX PA!

I think it's supposed to be like, back then, they weren't quite convinced they WOULDN'T be stars. Since the line before is 'they know they'll never be stars' Anyway, it means the same thing
