Modesto is really a pretty awful place, but there is no worse city in California than Baker.

Shit is Terrible! Every day there is some kind of drive by or gang violence and our school has to go in lock down, and the kids have no respect for the teachers, and Hilary Swank is pretty hideous. Oh wait... That's the plot to Freedom Writers. On paper it looks pretty bad, and in reality you could hang with the wrong people and get yourself in trouble but if you're a college bound music nerd, You're kind of part of a different scene. And it's a barren one, there's only a handful of talented local bands and theoretically no national draw, (recently Flavor Flav and UB40 have been the biggest acts to play in a long while). But it is getting worse, my car was just broken into ON THANKSGIVING! Now I'm just a statistic. I think it's better than living anywhere in Nebraska, but it's definitely not sweet!
