I'm not taking the piss here, i'm genuinely interested. Why would they mind if MP3s were distributed over flac files? If someone asked me not to distribute the mp3s i'd assume they just meant any digital distribution, not just of that specific format...

man, this is fantastic. last night was basically one big sweaty drunken rocking screaming back-and-forth-as-one blur. this is lending some lucidity to the whole thing. the "Hornets! Hornets!" sing-along is awesome.

If someone asked me not to distribute the mp3s i'd assume they just meant any digital distribution, not just of that specific format... There's a whole thread somewhere here about this. Long story short is the taper (who may not be the same taper as this show) feels if he took the time to present the highest quality (in his view) then his format choice should be respected and not offered in (in his view) inferior ways. When I read that thread I kept hearing We Care A Lot by Faith No More as it's soundtrack, because people DO care a lot about format choices in the live show world, but I am not so much one of them. One day I'll figure out how to deal with FLAC, but until that day I'll make do without those shows.

Oh yea, ps, my summary of format issues in no way lessens my extreme admiration and appreciation of tapers.

Hey guys, just to clarify about the mp3. I mean don't spread the show to the community in mp3, but if someone wants to convert the flac to mp3 for their own personal use, that's totally fine. Flac lossless is the way to spread and trade the show since Flac is compressed from the original master tape. Mp3 is a step down in quality. That's all I'm saying.
Thanks for all the kudos, I am happy to share this with you all and I'm glad it came out sounding great.

I am old school - no ipod , i still buy cd's at music stores...hahaha ... now to figure out if i can actually get this on to a disc.

Most people don't know what FLAC files are or how to convert them to MP3 so I do that for them, and the headphones most of us have cannot do FLAC files justice. But thanks for sharing!

Okay, I really, truly understand the desire to transmit music in the best possible format. However, I have now tried, unsuccessfully, for about an hour, and twice, to download this show. I googled the instructions and found something called Fluke that seems to work, but there are no files in my iTunes when I follow all of the instructions and it even tells me that it has put them there. I have iTunes 9.0 and Mac OS X 10.5.8. So, I'm using a fairly updated system.
It would be extremely helpful to provide files in formats that the rest of the world can use.

a) Rockinman, this sounds great. Excellent job. b) Because I'm an obsessive-type who likes seeing the little picture on my iPod, I threw together a quick piece of art that I figured I'd share: www.flickr.com/photos/sxt/4535176697/c) Again, seriously, if I didn't know better I'd swear this was from the board.

Thanks for the kudos on the recording. It would be great if THS could play the 930 Club in DC, that place produces even better recordings.
FYI, you can drop Flac files you download into Flac Frontend (you have to download this free software) and hit "decode" and you'll have audio files to burn to cd.

One of those 9:30 shows (I forget which) includes a "Curves And Nerves", for those who don't have it otherwise.
